- Oh god damn it, is there a way to stick with Unity 7 a little longer? Ubuntu 16.04 LTS is supported until April 2021. Did you upgrade from 17.04 to 17.10? Then Unity wasn't uninstalled. Choose your account from GDM, then click the gear icon and choose 'Unity' before logging in. Did you do a fresh install of Ubuntu 17.10?
New Gnome desktop
